GeoAgSys 4D

GeoAgSys is an Agricultural based software system built on top of the NASA WorldWind SDK. It is currently in development. GeoAgSys will rely on hardware systems such as GPS, Radio Telemetry, and Embedded controller systems to achieve geographic based monitoring and remote control of on-farm systems including frost protection and precision irrigation. This site is currently just a place holder and should be considered very preliminary. Contact information will be provided at a later date.

Planned Features as of 2008-05-04

  • Remote control and monitoring of wind machines for frost protection.
  • Real-time spatial interpolation of on-farm wireless sensor network data, disease and pest models
  • Real-time irrigation system scheduling based on spatially interpolated Evapotranspiration model
  • precision variable water/chemical application with individual nozzle control over a user defined application map.
  • Real-time monitoring of irrigation systems, realistic 3D models for linear, pivot, and fixed systems.
  • Asset tracking of fixed and mobile systems such as vehicles, monitoring equipment, sprayers, etc
  • Integrated online community networking for resource sharing of data to aid in regional decision making
  • Hi-Res aerial imagery and elevation data
  • 3D Models for visual representation of assets

  • vehicle tracking, linear irrigation system

Real-time wireless RF telemetry systems collect information over large geographic regions

Real-time frost-protection monitoring and alarms via wireless RF telemetry systems
